Sargsian and Vardan Oskanian interpret Yesterday the Minister of Defense
Serge Sargsian affirmed once again that the arrested group of criminals in the
USA hadn’t exported weapons from Armenia. According to the Minister the investigation
doesn’t have any proof or fact that weapons have been exported to the USA or anywhere.
He declared that it was important for him to keep the ammunition and weapons in
safe conditions. As the Minister of Defense was available yesterday the journalists
asked him some questions. The main part of the questions concerned the militant
declarations of the Azerbaijani side and also those affirmations that the Armenian
side broke the cease-fire at the border. On this occasion Serge Sargsian noticed:
"Each person who knows the conflict a little also knows that the Armenian
side doesn’t need in firing, the Armenian side doesn’t have a problem to solve
or improve because it has improved its position since 1994. However the Ministry
of Defense of Azerbaijan says that it is through the Armenians’ fault or initiation
it is obvious that it is lie and slander." The Minister of Defense Safar
Abiev doesn’t exclude in his speeches the reopening of hostilities; the President
of Azerbaijan speaks about the same. Serge Sargsian opposing to Safar Abiev said
that the latter didn’t say anything new, he says what he says constantly. "
But I want those people to remember forever that the war isn’t a game. I want
Safar Abiev to remember his passed way, I think it will be helpful for him. As
regards the President of Azerbaijan then hence on some circumstances I don’t permit
myself to interpret his sayings." "Some circumstances" is probably
that Ilham Aliev is the President of Azerbaijan and the RA President will answer
to him by request.What prospects are there to deepen Armenian-Russian relations
on national security? Answering to this question Serge Sargsian answered that
a report would be published soon which he had given to the highest officer staff.
That report calls "About the RA security." The Minister of Defense said
that the threats of the RA security and the neutralization ways of it were produced
in that report. The attitudes of Armenian towards NATO, Russia, EU and the USA
will be expressed in the report. "If you read carefully that report it will
be obvious for you what our wishes are." The Armenian version of the report
is completely ready and now the Russian and English versions are preparing. The
complete version of the report will be ready not early than in a month. And it
is suggested that our country will have the standpoint of national security.In
his part the Minister of Foreign Affairs Vardan Oskanian also declared that the
aggressive declarations of the Azerbaijani side wouldn’t lead to anything. "Those
declarations won’t lead to any positive conclusion and Azerbaijan must realize
it." Whether the militant statements made by Ilham Aliev and other Azerbaijani
politicians are only for internal use or they are more serious. Vardan Oskanian
hopes that these are for internal use. "Let’s hope that these are for internal
use and they don’t believe in what they say. We have said for many times that
Azerbaijan has been mistaken in that case for two times and we think that the
third mistake will be the last one."We noticed that the Minister of Foreign
Affairs observed the problem of Armenian Genocide from the angle of human rights
in the commission of the UN human rights, which took place in Jneve on 14 of March.
But are human rights in our country protected sufficiently? "I think that
they are protected enough, the situation isn’t the ideal one but we have something
to do but I wouldn’t also say that there are serious infringements of human rights."We
consider necessary to remind Mr. Oskanian that only 17 applications have sent
to the European Court of Human Rights and the number of it will reach to 30 till
May on the occasion of April events of 2004. But this is only the occasion of
April events but how many events are there that the RA citizens can’t turn to
