– Though the presidential run hasn’t officially been launched but it is still active political situation and a lot of politicians don’t hide that they will nominate their candidacy. Does it mean that very active political activities are expected?
– It is not easy to say which kind of politically active life is expected, in all cases, presidential elections are quite different from parliamentary elections, and the presidential elections have always been dominant, in particular in countries like ours, where the future of the country depends on the person who hold the post of the president. Why is it spoken about presidential elections so much and who does speak about? There are people who think that they can hold the post of president, and there are people who simply represent themselves.
– The first president has very active meetings in different parts of the republic, as I know you also accompany him and actively take part in those meetings. What is the goal of those meetings is it possible that the first president will nominate his candidacy?
– In reality those meetings aim to understand the moods. Levon Ter-Petrosyan knows very well internal political situation of
– ANM has decided to participate in parliamentary elections, it was even nominated, and then it changed its decision. Now do you exclude that the same will happen in Levon Ter-Petrosyan’s case?
– Regarding the ANM decision, it was the result of their political decision. I suppose that they understood that it was impossible to struggle against the current regime without unified forces.
– Do you see that it is not possible?
– Do you know that everybody made up such a conclusion that it is possible? The intentions for unification are not accidental in the context of presidential elections, which will lead to a joint candidate. In this case all roads lead to Ter-Petrosyan.
– But the presidential candidates are not few in the opposition.
– I think that all issues will be solved in time, maybe several political forces want, I don’t want to offend anyone but I haven’t seen any serious desire from any political force. All of them have some expectations, and I think that the list of nominees will reduce. In case of Ter-Petrosyan’s nomination, the situation will be changed. So I think that a lot of people wait for it. Look what the authorities tell about it: since Levon Ter-Petrosyan is a clever man, he won’t nominate his candidacy. Does it mean that only not clever politicians will nominate?
– According to several affirmations not Levon Ter-Petrosyan wants to return but his supporters want him to come back and rehold their former positions.
– This is the cheapest propaganda which have ever done. I think everybody understands who is who. We should solve the problem of the RA future, which kind of authority should we have? I\’m sure it should be based on people, it means that the coming authority will include a larger circle than Levon ter-Petrosyan\’s supporters are.
– Will the first president declare about his nomination on September 21, or will he still keep silence?
– I have never heard about that timing, the press has simply supposed about it. We\’ll celebrate our Independence Day, I think you will be also invited and if Levon Ter-Petrosyan is there you can ask him directly.
