The Conspiracy and “Ears” Theory

March 29,2013 16:47

All the plots of the political domain and thus the informational domain are too hard to conceive; one should have a special talent, which I don’t have. However, two stand out in manifold armies and camps. The first one is focused on “young oligarchs” whose goal is, according to the supporters of that opinion, to show that Serzh Sargsyan is good, and a part of his inner circle is bad, and the good part of the inner circle is the very part that is represented by the “young oligarchs.” According to that opinion, there are information agencies that propagate that very approach, and the holy duty of every principled and just person is to disclose that conspiracy. According to them, Raffi Hovhannisyan is also a part of that conspiracy, and actually, he is “pooh,” a “hanger-on,” and a “mouthpiece.” In response, the forces and the information agencies that are the target of those attacks express an idea that such propaganda is organized from one center, and one can see the “ears” of the first and second presidents, the Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP), and Russian imperialism behind that center. According to the opposite camp, the goal of Levon’s and Kocharyan’s forces is to discredit Raffi Hovhannisyan and “regain control” over the opposition electorate.

I repeat it is hard for me to say which part is a lie and which part is the truth here, which part is exaggeration or inappropriate generalization and which part assertion of facts. Probably, everything is so mixed up here to win campaign points that one should be stewed in these intrigues every day, in order to understand who is guided by what motives. Given all that, it is always unpleasant for me to see people suspect each other all the time, seek for conspiracies, and reveal ears. And that talk at the informational level, “I am independent, and you are not,” “You are controlled, and I am not” is rather amusing.

Basically, all forces – however you refer to them, as “progressive” or “regressive” supporters of Serzh, as supporters of Levon and Kocharyan, or as supporters of Raffi – know quite well that it (I mean the country’s economic and political development) cannot continue like this any longer; it is in no one’s interests. All parties realize that the revolutionary developments of the “Arab scenario” are not possible in Armenia. I think that there is also realization that the time for absolute, monopolistic power is over; it is not effective any longer. Only one thing is left to do – to bite each other less and agree with each other more quickly. It would be better, if they did it with “pen and paper,” i.e. dictating not accusations and suspicions, but ideas for development of Armenia. And the issue of conspiracies and “ears” can be left to kindergarten children.
