Arayik Harutyunyan. “To whom does Armenia give a privilege of more than AMD eight billion?”

June 20,2013 17:12

“The NA opposition factions did not want to fall under certain responsibilities. On the one hand, there is a perversion of the Law on the Language, on the other hand an investment of USD 100 million, and it is strange that once staying out of NA some of them was actively reacting and opposition to, and now they stay abstained. Their behavior is very strange, may be it is the problem of assuming responsibilities and only four people voted against”,- commented the member of the initiative “We are against reopening foreign language

schools” Arayik Harutyunyan referring to only 4 MPs voting ‘against’ to the draft law on providing tax and customs privileges in the framework of Dilijan international School program.

According to him, the deputies of ARF, PAP, ANC and Heritage factions presented even the proposal made by their own initiative regarding the school as their own proposal, and promised to members of initiative: “If the proposal is not adopted, we will vote ‘against’. But the same people during the third reading voted ‘abstained’. The members of the initiative have not yet spoken with the deputies of the opposition factions to find out the reasons for their voting pro and abstained. “It was yesterday, today we are busy. We will try to clarify the issue in the future. Their main argument at the National Assembly is the following: “We don’t want to vote ‘against’, because that would mean we are against such a huge investment, it is not justified.” According to Arayik Harutyunyan, the risks of adopting the project at the National Assembly are already visible. «A draft law is presented which does not explain what program is carried out in Armenia, who gets the privilege of more than AMD eight billion, and the question what projects will be carried out with this huge amount is open.”
