October 22,2013 12:15

Orange Armenia summarized the results of the technical works done during the summer period and beginning of autumn, an important period for the field works in terms of network capacity improvement and extension.

Between June and September 2013, 16 new mobile base stations were built and connected in different parts of the country. These sites were have been designed to meet the growing demand of traffic, like in several districts of the capital Yerevan, in Ararat city and also  several smaller towns and villages. New base stations make accessible for the first time the Orange services to new villages, like Vazashen, Aygehovit and Haghartsin in Tavush region. In Geghanush and Gomaran villages in Syunik region or Antaramut and Kachachkut villages in Lori region which previously were not covered by any operator, Orange has brought quality mobile servicesto the population for the first time.

«With a constant attention and care about the service quality everywhere – in cities, towns and villages, we also think about extending the network to new settlements and areas. Along with the capacity and coverage extension of our network, we recently upgraded the network in Ararat city, after Etchmiazin, Vanadzor, Gyumri and Yerevan. We will continue to extend our 42 Mbs offer to new towns and 21 Mbps all over the country. Orange is happy to be one of the few operators in Europe – and up to now the only operator in Armenia – providing such combination of speed», said Francis Gelibter, Orange Armenia CEO.

The network deployment works are not yet over for 2013. Several other base stations – 12 in total – will be installed during autumn in the same objective of care about high quality services.
