December 07,2013 19:05

Aravot.am asked the persons responsible for the Dilijan international school whether they did not explore the location before starting the construction of the school’s huge territory, for which millions of dollars have been invested, and whether they did know know that the school is being built in the landslide zone, and if they knew why they did not take measures as is was claimed yesterday at the press conference by Ruben Yadoyan, President of the “Engineer- geologist” company.

The geologist noted that the private investor before starting construction works in the territory of the Dilijan international school did not conduct anti-landslide measurements, which is dangerous for further exploitation of the construction. Ruben Yadoyan assured that all buildings built in the landslide zone will be demolished. “Before commencing the construction work, the area was explored in detail, all possible risks were considered during the design phase, and before making such huge investments, naturally, works have been carried out and they are in process”, – was told to Aravot.am from IDeA foundation implementing the Dilijan international school project. As presented by responsible persons of the School, the construction is monitored by the international and local experts, and regularly Armenian, Russian and British experts visited the construction area and monitor the process of the work. “It should be noted that the school construction is carried out in compliance with national and international norms. The construction is passing all the phases and examinations defined by RA laws. Both, in the design and construction processes, the strictest requirements of quality and safety are followed.”
