Tigran Kocharyan. “The leading news sites did not swallow the Azerbaijani “baits”.”

“If we compare the recent incident with helicopter with the incidents happened on the border in summer, the Armenian media made a pretty progress in all areas: it was more prepared and did more accurate moves”, said information security specialist Tigran Kocharyan, in conversation with Aravot.am.

He believes that Armenia’s leading news websites were better oriented on these days and used only official sources. “The leading news sites did not swallow the Azerbaijani “baits”. For example, I have not seen this famous video in any major news site where Azerbaijanis downed the Armenian helicopter. It was obvious that they are trying to enter the Azerbaijani propaganda into the arena”.

As said by Tigran Kocharyan, there was a problem with the information coming from Artsakh, as the Nagorno-Karabakh Defense Ministry was disseminating that there are three victims, while Armenia’s Defense Ministry was announcing that it is still early to talk about three victims.

The information security specialist is concerned about the situation in the social networks. He believes that a lot of work is to be done to save the users. “The same video that shows the moment of the death of our pilots was a film for many people, they could not even understand why it is disseminated, it did not occur to their mind that this video could be seen by the family members of the victims, and how it would be unpleasant for them. If, God forbid, a war breaks out, probably, the “Facebook” should be turned off in Armenia for a couple of days because during the war the enemy’s goal is to cause despair and panic. Many people still do not understand if there is a war, how they are going to behave themselves.”
