French-Armenian film director Arnaud Khayadjanian’s “Stoney Paths” film is a story of a tour made in Anatolia. He begins the tour in Turkey, in the land of his ancestors surviving the Armenian Genocide. Starting from a painting, casual meetings and the stories of his relatives; he discloses the less-known works of unfamiliar people – the pious – that have saved lives in 1915.

The documentary is included in the “Armenian Panorama” program of the “Golden Apricot” Yerevan International Film Festival-13. “I was 20 years old when I found out that great grandfather was from the Western Armenia. He was hiding from the Turks during the Armenian Genocide and was saved with the help of a Kurd. I decided to make a film and tell about the people who have saved Armenians during the genocide. I made researches for two years. I got acquainted with the families who survived genocide. I realized that there was someone in the story of every survivor who rescued a family member,” – said Arnaud Khayadjanian during the meeting with journalists. Incidentally, this year, the film “Stoney Paths” won the Special Jury Prize at the Ismailia International Film Festival.
