Sergey Smbatyan conducts CIS Youth Symphony Orchestra

Artistic director and chief conductor of the Armenian State Youth Orchestra conducted the CIS Youth Symphony Orchestra on September 28 in Minsk. The concert was held in the Great Hall of the Belarusian State Academy of Music, press service of the orchestra informs.

According to the source, the event was dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the CIS, as well as the Russia Day. The concert was organized with the support of the CIS Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation and the CIS Executive Committee.

Conducted by Sergey Smbatyan, the orchestra performed the melodies of USSR popular movies. The concert featured pieces of Dunayevsky, Dobronravov, Pakhmutova and other composers.

Opera singer Gevorg Hakobyan also performed during the concert.
