“We are working for the French companies operating in Russia are more closely interested in the Armenian market,” – says the French ambassador Jean-François Charpentier.

“After Russia, France is the second foreign investor in Armenia.  I must admit that the closure of Orange left a bad impression on potential investors.  On November 17, the leasing agreement signed for 15 years and worth of 800 million euros for the water supply and wastewater systems of Armenia by Veolia was a positive impetus for the business community,” – said Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Armenia, Jean-Francois Charpentier, in an interview with Aravot.

The Ambassador also added, “The industry of trade-economic relations is sadder: annual trade turnover of 1.4% or 59.8 million euros.  In this regard, there is broad opportunity for progress.”  “Armenia has recently become a member of the Eurasian Economic Union to say that it had an impact on trade-economic relations between our countries.  It seems not a particularly encouraging, and with the exception of some customs issues, nor hinders the latter.  We wish the enterprises are interested in larger and broader market opportunities.  We are working for the French companies operating in Russia are more closely interested in the Armenian market,” said our interlocutor.
