Politics as such does not exist

December 13,2016 14:25

As any small country, roughly speaking, it has to be “transplanted” to this or that superstate, namely, to this state’s military potential so as any small political party joins the bigger party, primarily, to its money.  But there is also a difference.  In the case of the countries, all this is obvious, it is known that Armenia is under Russia’s patronage, while, let’s say Georgia – under the patronage of the United States.  (Incidentally, I do not agree with our “pro-Russians” and “pro-Westerns” that there is a great difference in this respect).  However, in the case, if political parties, “transplanting” can be both public and in secret.  Of course, it is better to be open but this situation is a manifestation of other systemic “defect”.

One of my colleagues, Aghassi Yenokyan rightly wrote that the main drawback of Armenia’s politics is that there are almost no people with purely political ambitions.  In my understanding, political ambition is seeking to implement own ideas and own vision.  “Attracting” money for the prospect of passing or not passing to the parliament, or to stand for own money for keeping the political party or for giving repletion to the vanity, all of this, in the scientific sense of my words, are not politics.

The rich goes to the city where almost half of the population is “officially” poor.  Naturally, the poor stand in line pushing each other with a hope to receive almsgiving.  It is a common (of course, not desirable) scene for a poor country.  However, let us state two unpleasant moments.  If there is a desire to help the poor, it is certainly wonderful. But why is it necessary to do it demonstratively?  I was always amazed at why the Armenian philanthropists wish to advertise their charity.  Bill Gates is spending several billion dollars to charity but I have never seen him standing in front of the camera and saying that he is “with the people and standing next to the people.”  In the context of given material, the following question is more important, what does all this to do with the politics?  It is clear that this very “charity” is going to be the so-called basis of “rating vote” which will ensure the victory of the ruling party because the main rich are gathered in the Republican Party.

In all countries, the politics is interconnected with money.  But only in the developed countries, money is a mean to achieve some (not necessarily, pure) goals.  In a country like ours, the money is a goal.  That is why the mind and the thought were “exiled” from the politics by yielding their place to the obscenity of illiterate people.  Thoughtful people are reluctant to deal with these processes.  That is all about.
