Book Launch in RA National Assembly

On February 8, in the RA National Assembly the launch of the book The Armenian-Turkish Relations and Information Warfare (1991-2016) authored by the RA NA deputy Hayk Babukhanyan, where the RA NA Deputy Speaker Hermine Naghdalyan, the NA deputies, employees of the staff and journalists attended.

Thanking the RA Ministry of Culture and presenting the book, the NA deputy Hayk Baukhanyan has noted that it is dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Armenia. He has also noted that in his book he touched upon the development of the relations of independent Armenia and Turkey. In the author’s word, the Armenian-Turkish conflict has a history of thousand years, which he has divided into four phases, studying the relations of Turkey also with the regional countries. The author has also studied the publications of the press and paid attention to the response concerning the Armenian Genocide of the world press, especially at the beginning of the twentieth century. The RA NA Deputy Speaker Hermine Naghdalyan, deputies Vahram Baghdasaryan, Artashes Geghamyan, Artak Davtyan, Artak Zakaryan and the specialist of Oriental studies Ruben Melkonyan.

In her word Hermine Naghdalyan has stated that the author, studying more than 200 sources, has created a memorable work with big volume, which is of applicable importance for the wide range of readers: for the specialists, journalists and all the individuals interested in the Armenian-Turkish conflict.

Assessing his colleague’s detailed work, the Head of the NA RPA Faction Vahram Baghdasaryan has noted that the book presents episodes relating to the Armenian-Turkish relations and unknown to the public up to now, which sheds light on the conflict of thousand years.

The MPs highly assessed the huge work done during the creation of the book and noted that it should be translated into different languages, in order it would reach to the international community and promote the victory of the Armenian Cause. They have stated that the ongoing information warfare does not recognize closed borders, and the policy pursued by the neighbouring country and the relations with the international community should remain at the centre of attention.
