Aravot.am asked Deputy Mayor of Yerevan city, Aram Sukiasyan, to comment on the allegation of the “Union of Informed Citizens” NGO that the school and kindergarten principals and teachers are engaged in the task of making a list of RPA electorates.  “Certainly, a number of school principals are very active in the politics irrespective of the party affiliation, and the considerable part of them are actively integrated into a variety of processes, however, it certainly does not mean that they must do it in the framework of their liabilities or by the time zone, during the working hours.

Therefore, here, yes, there is a material for discussion because some of them have done this during the working hours which certainly is a violation of the law.  The Central Election Commission has applied to the Yerevan Municipality as a mutual assistance to receive a respective explanation from the directors of the kindergartens and schools.  Given the shortage of time, the Yerevan Municipality promptly invited the mentioned directors to write an explanation which will be transferred to the Central Election Commission,” said Deputy Mayor of Yerevan city.

Mr. Sukiasyan also added, “I cannot make any other comment because there are school principals who refuse to accept their voice in the recording.  Indeed, there are such cases, simply, I will not allow myself to say which schools they are.  I think that the Central Election Commission will have its approaches and will come up with an appropriate announcement.”
