There is a much worse thing than the elections

March 28,2017 13:33

The school and kindergarten principals are working in favor of the functionaries during the elections.  I am writing about it for at least 22 years, and I am asked to “bring evidence.”  The “Union of Informed Citizens” NGO brought this evidence.  The justifications that they are ordinary pre-election listings do not suffice me.  If I know some information about the citizens as an ex officio rather than as an RPA, I should not use them for my political activities.  Even if it is not criminal, then it is a rough violation of ethics.

But even if it is proved that all 114 persons have committed the same violations, and even if these principals are dismissed from work and the RPA will not participate in the elections, it comes to the same that tomorrow other principals will work for another ruling party as it was done during the times of the Communists and PANM.  For the school is a small part of the public psychology and a huge system.  A system and psychology, which has been formed prior to the independence of Armenia.  It is no coincidence that today, on the 25th year of the independence, the school teachers continue to be addressed by a “comrade”.

Accordingly, the state and the government are the same, working in the public sector you are working for the government.  Another important “cornerstone”:  you can curse the functionaries in your kitchen starting from approximately the 1960s (earlier than that they were detained), in the streets, in the media starting from 1985 and now already on the Internet.  But when you have a public job (not only at school), you keep your curses to yourself, you do not speak over too much and obey the “bosses” because your “bread and water” depends on them.  The teacher obeys the “comrade-principal”, the “comrade-principal” obeys the head of the people’s education department (now apparently, the name has been changed) and the latter to higher “bosses.”  People are thinking that they are eating not the state’s (taxpayers) but the functionaries’ bread, and it is clear that as Ostap Bender used to say, “bosses” of various levels were demanding numerous petty services from them for each calorie.  Especially, during the elections.

There is a much more important and much worse thing in all this that the elections: the “Soviet” still exists in most of the schools, and there is no chance that citizens of the Republic of Armenia will be educated in such schools.
