The Chair of the Delegation of the European Parliament Heidi Hautala mentions that the European Union has considerably supported RA to conduct parliamentary elections, shown financial assistance to get technical equipment: “They (referring to the equipment.) dispelled some concerns, but the election process was complicated. Unfortunately, there is a reliable information revealing the utilization of an administrative resource, pressures on the employees of schools and medical institutions, in particular”, told Ms. Hautala during the meeting with Armenian media.
Nevertheless, pursuant to Heidi Hautala’s assurance, European Parliament will work with the new RA Parliament to proceed with the reformations. Addressing the question as what influence the parliamentary elections will have on RA-EU relations, Heidi Hautala noted: “EU and RA deepen their relations, the comprehensive agreement is drafted. Supposedly, the signing will take place in November, in Brussels”.
