Konstantin Zatulin: “Sustainability in Armenia is not under risk”

April 04,2017 05:26

“The results of the parliamentary elections give us hope that Sustainability in Armenia is not under risk”, opined the member of the observation mission of the Commonwealth of Independent States Konstantin Zatulin at Sputnik-Armenia press club. Pursuant to the speaker’s viewpoint, these elections were victorious for the Republican Party of Armenia and Armenian Revolutionary Federation, but ““Tsarukyan” alliance shouldn’t have any complaints either, I think”.

Overall, on Armenian parliamentary elections, Konstantin Zatulin shares the opinion which was given by the head of the CIS observation mission. Konstantin Zatulin considers RA new election code to be “innovative”, he states he has observed it in detail, he agrees that election violation mechanisms have been maximally excluded. He regards the elections to be accomplished well: “Of course, there were violations, but I’m confident that they didn’t have an impact on the election results”.

He has made his observation in Syunik province, he has intentionally chosen the location. Konstantin Zatulin says, that this new election mechanism demanded strivings from everyone. He opines that if this election system is preserved, it perhaps needs to be made easier a bit. But it’s an inner business/matter – Central Electoral Commission’s issue. He regards the factor that neither the authorities nor the opposition are eager to commence post-election tensions to be very essential: “Armenia’s not in the state to afford itself unsustainability, therefore the society’s mandate lacks”.
