Erdogan intends to create new Turkey

“Erdogan, in essence, has conquered Turkey. Even his army has ceased being an important power center. There is no other political figure relevant to Erdogan’s gauge in Turkey”, told Turkologist Ruben Safrastyan during the interview with Aravot.am referring to the forthcoming referendum in Turkey.

Let us remind you that the referendum on constitutional amendments in Turkey is scheduled for April 16.

According to the Turkologist, through that move president Recep Tayyip Erdogan will formally acquire a greater power inasmuch as he already possesses an actual power. “It is important to him. He perceives himself as the second father of Turkey and intends to create a new Turkey”, noted Ruben Safrastyan. He does not consider that Turkey will change its policy towards the Republic of Armenia in the result of the referendum.
