President Sargsyan received Michel Pier Pharaon

President Serzh Sargsyan received today the State Secretary for Planning Affairs of the Lebanese Republic Michel Pier Pharaon.

The President of Armenia welcomed the guest and his delegation to Armenia. The momentous event – the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Armenia and Lebanon, according to President Sargsyan, is yet another good opportunity to value and praise the traditionally warm and friendly relations between the two peoples and the two countries. The President of Armenia recalled warmly his November 2012 state visit to the friendly Lebanon and asked the State Secretary to convey to President Michel Aoun his warm greetings and invitation to visit Armenia.

Serzh Sargsyan expressed hope that the visit of State Secretary Pharaon, as well as the meetings and discussions held in the framework of the visit, will invigorate the Armenian-Lebanese relations since their continuous strengthening emanates from the interests of the two nations.

At the meeting, the President of Armenia awarded the State Secretary for Planning Affairs of the Lebanese Republic Michel Pier Pharaon with the Order of Friendship for his considerable contribution to the strengthening of the Armenian-Lebanese economic ties and promotion of friendship between the two peoples.

State Secretary Pharaon thanked President Serzh Sargsyan for the high state award and spoke with satisfaction about the meetings and discussions held in Armenia. He said that during the visit, he has had the opportunity to familiarize with the economic opportunities existing in Armenia, studied the investment environment which impressed him and noted that rather good conditions for investments have already been created.

The parties stressed the importance of the Armenian community of Lebanon in the strengthening of the interstate relations and building up friendship of the two peoples.
Along with the discussions related to the bilateral agenda, the parties also spoke about the Armenian-Lebanese cooperation in the multilateral format.
