August 03,2017 16:39

“Veolia water” company intends to raise water tariffs. The company has made an announcement on this. It should be noted that “Veolia water” is the only drinking water supply operator in Armenia, which will soon apply to the Public Services Regulatory Commission to review the water tariff.

Let us remind that, on November 21, 2016, at the meeting with journalists, Malika Genduri, Vice President of the “Veolia Group’s” Central and Eastern Europe zone, announced about the possibility of the rise in water tariff. Then Genduri assured that the water tariff will rise to a ridiculous amount.

Currently, the water cost for 1 cu / m. is 180 drams, the tariff offered by “Veolia water” company is 194.3 drams, and the tariff for large subscribers is 54 drams, which is proposed to become 58.3.

Economist Artak Manukyan told Aravot.am, that the rise in water tariffs was expected and relatively objective. However, as the economist assured, gas, and electricity will follow the rise of water tariff in 2018.
