August 21,2017 19:39

The village of Yenokavan in Ijevan, where more than 600 residents live, not only does not have migration but also has immigrants from France, Iran, Yerevan, and Russia. Some of the grandchildren of this village, who live in foreign countries, have decided to make the village known to the world. Today Yenokavan hosts about half of the number of tourists who visit Jermuk, a tourist town. It has 15,000 visitors per year.

A few kilometers away from the village there is an extreme recreation zone, “Yell Extreme Park”, where the world’s longest zipline is being built. As the author of “Yell Extreme Park” project, co-founder Tigran Chibukhchyan noted, it will be 2770 meters long.

On August 19, the extreme recreation zone celebrated its 2nd anniversary. The park already has a relatively short zipline, and Tigran Chibukhchyan discovered that Armenians love extreme very much.

According to him, “We’ve created zipline market in the country. Now it is not only in Yenokavan but also with the efforts of other companies in Tsaghkadzor, in Lake Parz. We are only happy for that. We have our contribution in this regard. And I am really glad that others have joined this process”.

As Tigran Chibukhchyan says, he is a grandson of Yenokavan. One of his projects is to create an “Ethno village” in his ancestral Yenokavan, So, that tourists can get acquainted with the daily life of the village, take part in pottery and carpet making.

Another businessman-grandson of the village living in France was also persuaded to move to Yenokavan, and he is building a hotel for 17-20 people in the village. As Tigran Chibukhchyan said, construction works will be completed by the end of September. The hotel will solve the unemployment problem for several families in Yenokavan. In addition, it will also solve the issue of tourist services to some extent.
