‘Law on military service avoiders above 27 closes homeland return doors’: Zaruhi Hovhannisyan

According to Zaruhi Hovhannisyan, member of the “Army in Reality” initiative, the adoption of the law “On citizens that have not done the mandatory military service in accordance with the prescribed order” closed the doors of return before young people who have left Armenia.

“Such rigid rules will also contribute to the non-return of young people, fines for exemption from criminal liability are quite high and it will be a serious financial burden for the people who are abroad and at some point want to return to Armenia.

After all, people mostly migrate to work abroad to solve the problem of daily living. With this bill the citizen’s connection with his country can be completely cut off. This is a serious problem. After all, if people did not have social, financial problems they would not migrate”, said Zaruhi Hovhannisyan.
