Board members of “Civil Contract” party held a meeting on Saturday. Armenia’s Prime Minister, Nikol Pashinyan, also was present.
The party elected mayoral candidate for Yerevan’s Mayor seat. Member of Parliament Alen Simonyan told reporters that the party held two-round system elections. In the first round actor, Hayk Marutyan and Alen Simonyan were elected. In the second round, Hayk Marutyan aka Kargin Hayko (Cool Hayko) won the election.
Consequently, Civil Contract party nominates actor Hayk Marutyan for Yerevan’s Mayor seat.
Hayk Marutyan is famous for starring in “Kargin Haghordum” (Cool Show) TV show. He starred in more than 10 films and TV shows. The actor also joined protests against transport fare hikes, anti-governmental protests in 2018.
