“I think that our diplomatic missions needed to be more active,” member of the Armenia-EU interdepartmental working group, Naira Zohrabyan, said regarding an agreement that is to be signed between Armenia and the EU. She agrees with criticism from the opposition that the process to have the agreement signed has slowed down. Elections in the European Parliament are expected to take place in May. Naira Zohrabyan does not believe that the 10 countries that did not ratify the agreement would “ignore their parliamentary elections to focus on the Armenia-EU agreement.”
She believes that Armenian diplomatic representatives need to be more active since now business owners do not represent those institutions, but instead professional diplomats do.
As a member of the Armenia-EU interdepartmental working group, Zohrabyan said that they are holding intense discussions regarding the roadmap that is to be accepted soon. “I can say that the work to accept the roadmap is almost complete.”
Regarding Aravot Daily’s question about why the Armenia-EU contract ratification or the roadmap are not on the Prime Minister’s agenda during his visit to Brussels, Naira Zohrabyan said that his spokesperson should be asked this question. “I am not the Prime Minister’s spokesperson.”
