10 years of Eastern Partnership: Vilnius to host EU and Eastern partner leaders forum

EU NEIGHBOURS. On 24-25 October, the Lithuanian capital Vilnius will host a forum of local leaders from the EU and its Eastern partner countries.

Titled ‘10th Anniversary of the Eastern Partnership: Localising Sustainable Development Goals in the EU and the EaP’, the event will gather 120 mayors, councilors and local government professionals from different cities and regions in the EU and its Eastern partner countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine.

The forum is organised by the Association of Local Authorities of Lithuania and the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with EU support. It aims to review 10 years of partnerships between the EU’s local and regional governments and their peers in the Eastern partner countries. It will also aim to pave the way for the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals in Eastern Europe and the Caucasus.

The meeting will provide a great opportunity to address pressing issues, exchange solutions and design future partnerships.
