In Syunik, vital infrastructures were also damaged by shelling

As a result of the Azerbaijani shelling, residential buildings and infrastructure were damaged in the communities of Syunik, Vayots Dzor, and Gegharkunik in three regions of Armenia. Residential houses, cars, and vital infrastructures were damaged in two days in the Syunik province.

According to Edgar Martirosyan, the general secretary of the Syunik Province Administration, the ceremony hall of Karashen settlement of Tegh community was shelled, one residential house was damaged by shelling in Akner settlement of Goris community, 3 residential houses were damaged in Verishen settlement, and the windows of another house were broken.

“The cables of the 110-kilowatt and 35-kilowatt substations serving the settlements of Vaghatin, Vorotnavan, Shamb, Darbas, Getatagh, Lor, Lernashen, and Dastakert of the Sisian community were damaged, as well as the power supply lines feeding the settlements of Nerkin Hand, Tsav, and Shishkert of the Kapan community, which have already been restored.

The gas pipeline of the Vaghatur settlement of the Tegh community was damaged, which was also repaired,” said Edgar Martirosyan. The road leading from Noravan of the Sisian community to Aghitu was damaged. It passes next to the Noravan cemetery, and accordingly, the cemetery of the settlement was damaged.  A car owned by a citizen was also damaged in Noravan. One of the emergency vehicles of the Kapan Medical Center was hit by shelling on the Kapan-Chakaten road, on the Chakaten-Shikahog road.

Civilians were injured and killed in the Syunik region. “According to the data of September 14, we had 2 wounded civilians and one victim. Gevorg Martirosyan, who is from the Noravan settlement of Sisian, died. One of the injured is Artur Marutyan from the Tegh community, and the other is Gavrush Movsisyan from the Sisian community,” said Edgar Martirosyan.

It should be noted that on September 16, the heads of diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited in Armenia visited the regions affected by the latest Azerbaijani aggression.
