EU NEIGHBOURS. On 20-22 January, experts from Bulgaria, Germany and Spain will visit Armenia to present EU best practices in the area of risk management in tax administrations. During the workshop, they will also discuss with their counterparts from Armenia’s State Revenue Committee (SRC) new methods and tools introduced for achieving better tax compliance.
The SRC has successfully introduced a number of improvements in recent years. The country’s tax authorities introduced more electronic services and transitioned from general tax audit practice to a risk-based targeting audit. Additionally, a special monitoring centre was established in 2017 to identify risks related to cash transactions.
The expert mission is organised by the European Commission’s Technical Assistance and Information Exchange Instrument (TAIEX) in cooperation with Armenia’s State Revenue Committee.
