“And now, dear children, let us repeat the words that in no case can be pronounced.” A well-known anecdote about the PR: any word, phrase, which is unpleasant to you, and against which you are trying to fight, is reproduced and disseminated from this very fight, and people start getting interested in who offended us and what was said. For instance, I did not have any information about the on-line «SOS G/7″ transmission and its presenter Vilen Gayfejyan. I first heard about him when I read that at the request of the police, a video showing insults addressed to them was deleted from the youtube. At that point, probably, many people expressed a desire to watch this video, which despite deleting it from the youtube is so easy. Now, when three police officers decided to sue the young man, I “had to” watch the video. And, I think there are thousands of people like me. The reason is the ill-advised response of the police.
I cannot say that I am very much impressed by this video, I am very far away from the profanity-mixed youth “subculture”. Contextually I agree that there are police officers who speak and act at the “backstreet” level, there are also prepared and professional police officers. But, in this case, the matter is about a different thing. If the offended police officers did not want the video to be shared, they needed to ignore it, especially given, to say the least, the non-ambiguous attitude of the society towards the police. Years ago, “Moskovsky Komsomolets” newspaper reported rumors about Anatoly Chubais, which in the opinion of the official, does not meet the reality. When Chubais was asked why he does not sue, he replied, “I, indeed, have a good attitude to this newspaper, but not so good to promote to its PR.”
Earlier, having no experience in the field of information and, in particular, on the internet, I was trying to respond to those who write about me with aggressive tone, although, naturally, it never crossed my mind to sue anyone.
Now, almost every day, I meet the following comments, “You do not understand anything about it,” “Where did you get it from?”, “First think and then write” (rather than, “I’m thinking about this matter in this way,” as it should be). Reacting these type of “arguments” means giving importance to them. What is true is to smile and forget after reading one, or better, half line. In the case of personal assault of outlet or the internet “carrier”, I would recommend the same to the police and all other citizens instead of making a verbal backchat or a fuss at the court.
… Well, and if the court decision is against Vilen Gayfejyan, then we would have another casualty of a political persecution.
