‘RPA is not a political force but a force by compulsion:’ Vahan Hovhannisyan’s campaign against RPA

February 16,2017 08:28

The late Vahan Hovhannisyan was conducting an active campaign during the previous parliamentary elections by criticizing the ruling Republican Party.  He once announced that RPA is not a political force but a force by compulsion, “If the Republican Party and its leaders appraise even the issue of passing a law higher than the country’s image, the dignity of the National Assembly and the dignity of their own, if they resort to any action to achieve the goal then they will always resort.”

According to Vahan Hovhannisyan, RPA makes its vacuum cleaner running to conduct a harvesting of votes, while under the name cooperation, we understand to be obedient to it.  Vahan Hovhannisyan was even telling such a joke about the RPA, “A social poll is conducted in the streets, a citizen is asked, whom your vote will go, he says, to the Republican Party.  Well, the asker says, if you do not want to tell the truth, do not tell.”

Aravot.am asked the leader of ARF faction, Armen Rustamyan, whether he is not going to tell such jokes anymore about RPA during the ARF campaign, nor utter a word or turn everything upside down.  He replied, “We are going to alarm all the issues that are related to the electoral laws and the violation of adopted norms because it is against us too.  The positive side of these elections is that the participants although are many, the control is also growing.  Each one at least protecting its interests at the polling station ensures purity of general elections.  This is also a very important circumstance, and we are going to have a direct involvement in this.  We are going to visit all polling stations, we will have not only our members but also proxies, in other words, we will carry out a full control.  We are going to alarm all problems that will arise.”
